My Self-Summary

“Life is like a box of crayons. Most people are the 8-color boxes, but what you're really looking for are the 64-color boxes with the sharpeners on the back. I fancy myself to be a 64-color box, though I've got a few missing. It's ok though, because I've got some more vibrant colors like periwinkle at my disposal. I have a bit of a problem though in that I can only meet the 8-color boxes. Does anyone else have that problem? I mean there are so many different colors of life, of feeling, of articulation.. so when I meet someone who's an 8-color type.. I'm like, "hey girl, magenta!" and she's like, "oh, you mean purple!" and she goes off on her purple thing, and I'm like, "no - I want magenta!"”

.. I'm gonna give you plenty of material to strike up a conversation with me BELOW so please don't send me some lame "hey gurl whats up" message... thaaaaanks...

There is a tiny magnet in my heart that attracts puppies to me. Sometimes other animals too... but mostly puppies.

“I think of myself as an intelligent, sensitive human being with the soul of a clown which always forces me to blow it at the most important moments.” -- Jim Morrison

Being ACTIVE is a big part of my life. When the zombie outbreak begins, I am going to be able to outrun, outclimb, and OUTWIT all of the undead. I require the same in potential boyfriends. I am less picky with friends, but do not expect me to slow down to watch you get eaten.

I like live music but dislike most bars. I like creating things, painting, even though I'm not good at it. I like being outside -- swimming and/or riding my bike when it's sunny. I like to listen to thunderstorms.

Netflix sends me two movies at a time. It is like Christmas in my mailbox.

I also like to dance. This is a completely useless skill... or is it?

ENFP. Middle child. Bleeding heart. I was an English major but I really enjoy writing run-on sentences about myself.

What I’m doing with my life

I have a big girl job that pays the bills and then some... but what I aspire to do is travel and create fiction. I don't think I'm ever going to be content with a 9-5 gig. Currently, I'm collaborating with a friend on a very interesting, challenging project. I'll discuss in detail if you ask nicely...

I’m really good at

Analyzing people: their moods, motives, etc.
I’m good at a wide variety of sports – good hand-eye coordination, naturally athletic.
And I’m good at puzzles]]. And I'm a pretty outstanding [trivia partner.

The first thing(s) people usually notice about me

Generally, people notice that my left pupil is slightly smaller than my right due to an over-dilating incident as a child.

Or sometimes people notice that I have freakishly small ears.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

BOOKS: -- I dig Charles Bukowski, JD Salinger, Chuck Palahniuk, Kurt Vonnegut Jr, Miranda July -- etc etc etc. I also really like the book "Perks of Being a Wallflower" and wish Stephen Chbosky would write something else.

MOVIES: -- Tombstone, Daddy and Them, The Wackness, Eagle vs Shark, The Life Aquatic, Old James Bond movies, Lady and the Tramp, Fight Club, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Deadman, Turner and Hooch, The Terminal, Brick, Me and You and Everyone We Know, Forgetting Sarah Marshall, City of God, The Life Aquatic, The Dark Knight, No Country For Old Men, etc etc etc

MUSIC: -- Brand New, A Perfect Circle, Jay Z, Elliot Smith, The Beatles, Ok Go, Cake, Guster, Lil Wayne, John Mayer, Iron and Wine... my tastes are very eclectic.

FOOD: -- I generally eat like a total health nut... but when I do indulge I like sushi, crawfish, sweet potato fries, cupcakes, chocolate chip oatmeal cookies, wheat bread, smoothies, Abita strawberry beer, beignets (benYAYS), and dark chocolate.

The six things I could never do without

(1) the warm muzzle of a clean puppy. (2) a good bass line to follow with my hips (3) the means, electronic or otherwise, to record my constant stream of creative thought (4) face to face conversation with someone whose shoulder feels safe when I lay my head against it (5) a machine that creates photographs or records video for personal and public enjoyment (6) chemicals my body makes like endorphins and adrenaline ... mmmm adrenaline.

I spend a lot of time thinking about

Where else, if anywhere, I’d like to live. How to convince a publisher I’m the next big thing. Oh, and people. People pretty much fascinate me.

On a typical Friday night I am

cuddled up in my living room watching movies with my puppy... I work Saturday mornings... :)

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

I have a serious bias towards other Catholics. I only wake up early for people I love. And I can never remember where I parked my car.
