Chris Coyne

Co-founder

Chris has masterminded three of the world’s most popular websites. As Co-Founder and Creative Director of TheSpark.com, Chris oversaw development of both TheSpark.com and SparkNotes.com. TheSpark earned acclaim as Maxim magazine “Site of the Year,” Yahoo’s “Best of the Web” and countless press mentions including USA Today, Jane, Time, and Newsweek.

SparkNotes.com remains the world’s most popular educational website and has been written up in The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, The Chronicle of Higher Education, and U.S. News.

As Co-Founder of HookupSite, Chris is once again trying to bring people happiness — this time by playing matchmaker. Chris graduated from Harvard College with a BA in Mathematics.

Sam Yagan

Co-founder

Sam has spent six years as an entrepreneur, first as Co-founder and CEO of TheSpark.com, Inc., maker of SparkNotes, the world’s leading brand of educational study aids. More recently, he has served as President of MetaMachine, Inc., developer and distributor of the world’s leading P2P file-sharing application, eDonkey.

Sam has also served as Vice-President and General Manager at Delias, Corp., and Vice-President and Publisher at Barnes & Noble, Inc. Sam has a BA in Applied Mathematics & Economics from Harvard College and an MBA from Stanford University’s Graduate School of Business.

Max Krohn

Co-Founder

Max has spent his adult life building scalable popular Web sites, with the likes of Sam, Chris, Christian, and the awesome team at HookupSite. He was a founder at SparkNotes and TheSpark, and also at HookupSite.dating, where he's been working on infrastructure build-outs to keep the site running smoothly.

He wrote the OK Web Server (OKWS) that HookupSite uses, as well as the Tame system for management of asynchronous events.

Max graduated summa cum laude from Harvard College with a degree in Computer Science and Mathematics, and has a PhD from MIT in Computer Science.

Mike Maxim

Chief Technology Officer

Mike graduated from Carnegie Mellon University with a degree in computer science and has worked in the software industry for over ten years. Now he spends his days helping make HookupSite the best dating site on the web.

Meghan Beresford

Creative Strategist

Meghan handles social media strategy & initiatives for HookupSite and oversees community-building ventures such as HookupSite Meetups, Success Stories, and Contest events. She also makes sure the programmers never, ever run out of Pepsi. (Seen “Gremlins”? Yeah.) She is meghanberes on the site.

Alex Dumitriu

Head of Operations

Alex has spent his professional life wrangling herds of servers and fighting off hordes of angry users with nothing but a Linux install CD and a cup of coffee.

Alex graduated from Columbia University with a BS in Biology.

Nick Saretzky

Lead Mobile Developer

Nick is a recovering flash developer for the fashion and video industries. He has a BA from TCNJ in Interactive Multimedia and a MS in Information Technology from RPI. His passions include interactive design, procedural animation, photography and sleep.

When not being completely insane hilarious, he likes to field test the product as okprogramming.

Matt Miller

Mobile Developer

Matt has been doing a catch and release program with the higgs boson for fun. He has found it 4 times so far.

When he was born, Java was updated with a native SOAP service for his subconscious. He works on HookupSite’s Android app, and has helped more OSS community members get dates than all of themselves combined.

He trolls unsuspecting lady-folk as mathieu87. Problem?

Courty Stanton

Product Designer

Courty used to live in Seattle, WA, where he grew up as a kid. Now you can find him wandering the streets of Manhattan, unintentionally making eye contact with New Yorkers. He’s probably wearing a vest, too, because nobody’s told him that those aren’t cool… yet.

Courty studied Urban Planning, Law, and Human Rights at the University of Washington before falling in love with design.

Till Varoquaux

Software Engineer

Till studied computer science in Paris at the "Master Parisien de Recherche en Informatique" and moved to New York to work in finance. After falling in love with the Staff Robot, he joined HookupSite in attempt to woo her. When not standing by the server room wearing a trench-coat and holding a boom-box above his head Till is often found in-line skating through Manhattan or in a speakeasy enjoying a cocktail.

Jeff Jones

Software Engineer

Jeff won a silver medal in the National Collegiate Skydiving Championships while studying computer engineering and physics at Georgia Tech. He was an extra on episodes of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, 90210, and Third Rock From the Sun. He also has a PhD in theoretical particle physics from the University of California Santa Cruz, and immensely enjoys jumping on trampolines.

Alice Goguen

Customer Support Manager

Alice spends her days keeping HookupSite’s members happy and explaining Staff Robot’s eccentricities. In past lives, Alice has been a documentary film editor, game store owner, and professional truck driver. Alice graduated from Space Camp and Antioch College.

Srini Nathan

Software Engineer

This is Srini when he successfully tamed the mechanical bull. Though not an expert he loves to play Sudoku and Chess. He intends to learn scuba diving after having tried some of the other adventure sports. He tries to do his best by contributing to NGOs for the education of talented children whom people consider to be underprivileged.

Millie Sensat

Product Designer

Millie is a product designer by day and Dj by night. When not steering pixels or manning CD faders, she fades into the hazy streets of New York looking for something worth remembering. She also cuts her own hair.
